CELESTE GUIDRY Rock Band Coordinator & Sound Engineer Two time Grammy Nominated (2007-2008) for her sound engineering work. Straight from the heart of Cajun Country in Lafayette, LA, Celeste Guidry comes to Creative Soul with a background rich in music culture and history. Celeste graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Music Media and Percussion from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. She continued her education with Full Sail Real World Education in Orlando, FL where she won the Mix Master Competition for audio recording.Celeste Guidry has worn many hats such as high school and middle school music teacher, freelance sound engineer, and ProTools specialist. With love for sharing her skills and talent, Celeste brings opportunity and expertise to all students at Creative Soul. Celeste's teaching philosophy is to "let students perform and play, play play. BENJAMIN SHIREY ![]() Guitar/Voice/Piano & Home School/Rock Band Instructor Growing up in a family of musicians Ben learned to sing "loud and proud" at the young age of 9, in his families bluegrass band. He recently graduated from UNT with a Composition Degree, in the hopes to pursue songwriting as a career. In High School, Ben joined a rock band to pursue his love for Songwriting and Performance. He later studied Contemporary Music at Greenville College in Illinois. Ben's philosophy for teaching is "all music education should start with creativity within a structured environment." SARAH KLENA ![]() Voice/Guitar/Piano Instructor Sarah Klena is a singer/songwriter who, for the past 9 years, has had formal classical training in vocal and piano performance. She graduated from The University of North Texas where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance. For the past five years, she has worked in churches with youth groups and worship bands as a leader in music ministry. Sarah's teaching philosophy is to inspire through performance. Her goal is for her students to learn the fundamentals and share their own music with others. LISA COOPER Voice/Piano & Home School Band Instructor Lisa was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. She began studying classical piano at the Raleigh Conservatory at age eleven. She performed as a guest pianist with the Raleigh Symphony orchestra at age sixteen and continued to perform as a featured guest pianist with orchestras through her college career and 20s. She served as Miss North Carolina 1995 and competed in the Miss America Pageant, winning the talent competition with her classical piano arrangement. In 1997, she graduated from Meredith College with a classical piano performance and composition double major. Lisa began leading worship for conferences around the country back in 1997. In 1998, she moved to Nashville, TN and attended Belmont University for Masters studies in music education. During this time, she began touring and recording professionally. She has worked with many well-known artists including Michael W. Smith, Mercy Me, Kathy Troccoli, Sandi Patty, Point of Grace, Chris Rice, and Brandon Heath. She is married to recording artist Keith Cooper.Lisa moved to Dallas in 2006 to become the Director of Communications for 90.9FM KCBI radio. Through this position, she became involved with Operation Care Dallas, a Christian outreach to the homeless of the D/FW Metroplex. Lisa has been very involved with women's ministry events as well, including leading worship for Anne Graham Lotz and AnGeL Ministries. After serving KCBI radio and hosting a weekday afternoon talk show, Lisa desired to get back to her musical roots. She joined the staff at Creative Soul School of Modern Music in 2009 and now teaches her students the joy of musical expression. Lisa and her husband Keith are very involved in community outreach and use their musical talents to serve and encourage others. They currently reside in Fort Worth, Texas. DANE ERNST Drum Instructor Dane graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX with a B.A. Degree in Music with a concentration in Percussion. In addition to North Texas, Dane has also studied at the University of Texas in Arlington in the Winter Drumline, and with adjunct Professors there. In the summer of 2006, he marched in the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps touring across the country. Dane has performed with Chad Wackerman, former Drummer of Frank Zappa, and Steve Smith, former Drummer of Journey. He has studied percussion privately with Warren Dewey, former Drummer for LeAnn Rimes. Dane has been performing for over 10 years, and is currently the Drummer for the local Band "Born & Raised". CARLO DECANINI ![]() Bass/Guitar & Rock Band Instructor Carlo graduated from The University of North Texas in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music emphasis in Composition and Bass Performance (with a Minor in Business). He studied under Bass players, Paul Leblanc and Sergio Rodriguez. Carlo has played in numerous Rock Bands since he was a freshman in High School and his current band, “Werewolf Therewolf,” just put out their first CD. Carlo is also multi-lingual, speaking fluent Spanish. MICHAEL PETRUS ![]() Guitar & Bass Instructor MIchael is studying Music Education at the University of North Texas where he plans to finish with a Masters in Jazz Studies. Michael specializes in teaching jazz, fusion, and blues guitar and plays professionally in a variety of bands, churches, blues clubs and several different jazz band projects. Michael also studied under the top jazz composer and long time jazz musician Rick Stitzel. He received his Degree at University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Sciences. Ben spent two years in the world famous UNT jazz program as a Vocal Major and studied under the reknowned jazz vocal arranger, Paris Rutherford. Ben also under jazz vocalist, Rosana Eckert. Stylistically Ben excels in Jazz, Blues, Soul, and Rock music. Ben also performs with his Band, "The Ben Cina Trio", together for the past five years. LUKE ANGLE Drum Instructor Hailing from the Washington DC/Northern VA area, for the past 4 years Drummer Luke Angle has become a staple in the Dallas Ft/Worth area live music scene. Luke currently attends the world re-known music program at the University of North Texas, working towards a Degree in Jazz Performance, while studying Jazz Drumset under Ed Soph. During his time as a student, he has been a member of UNT’s world famous 2 O’Clock Jazz Band. He has also played/jammed/recorded/performed with some of Texas’s most recognized jazz artists. Some of these names include Lynn Seaton, Stefan Karlsson, Fred Hamilton, Mario Cruz, and John Abercrombie. In addition to jazz, Luke has and can perform many styles, and with a wide array of groups from the Indie-funk project Human Groove Hormone, to larger outfits such as the Rebel Alliance Big Band. During the Fall and Winter of 2009 & 2010 Luke led a trio that performed every Thursday and Friday night at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Addison, TX. Most recently Luke has been heard at the Greenhouse in Denton, or the Classic Café in Roanoke. |
